Pixel Clock ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use our mobile and Wear OS application, Pixel Clock (the "App").
1. Information Collection and Use
Pixel Clock is designed with privacy at its core.
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, location, or contacts.
- Local Data Storage: All data created or configured by you within the App—including alarms, timers, stopwatch records, world clock preferences, custom sound selections, and app settings—is stored locally on your device using encrypted local database systems (such as Android Room Database). This data never leaves your device.
- No Online Tracking / Analytics: We do not track your activity, use third-party analytics services, or build user profiles.
2. Device Permissions and How They Are Used
To function properly as a clock, alarm, and timer application, Pixel Clock requests certain Android permissions. These permissions are strictly used to deliver core application functionality:
| Permission |
Purpose |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Used to deliver active alarm ringing, timer countdowns, and stopwatch status updates via status bar notifications. |
| SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM |
Required to trigger high-precision alarms and timers at exact user-specified times. |
| USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT |
Used to present full-screen alarm ringing activity when your device screen is locked or asleep. |
| FOREGROUND_SERVICE & SPECIAL_USE |
Used to run continuous timer countdowns, stopwatch tracking, and active alarm ringing without being interrupted by the OS. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED |
Allows the App to automatically reschedule your active alarms after your device reboots. |
| WAKE_LOCK & DISABLE_KEYGUARD |
Ensures the alarm screen turns on and remains visible when an alarm rings. |
| VIBRATE |
Provides haptic vibration feedback for alarms and timer alerts. |
| INTERNET |
Optional network access, if needed for system time synchronization or checking for optional app updates. No personal data is sent over the network. |
3. Third-Party Services and SDKs
Pixel Clock does not use third-party advertising frameworks, tracking scripts, or profiling SDKs.
If you use voice commands via Google Assistant or Gemini AI on supported devices, interactions are processed securely on-device via official Android System APIs (AppFunctions). We do not have access to your voice recordings or AI interaction history.
4. Data Security
Because all app data is stored locally on your device, your data is protected by Android's application sandboxing and built-in security architecture. We recommend securing your device with a password, PIN, or biometric lock to protect your local device data.
5. Children's Privacy
Pixel Clock does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16/18 depending on jurisdiction). The App is safe for general audiences of all ages.
6. Data Deletion & Retention
Since all data (alarms, timers, preferences) is stored locally on your device:
- You can clear all app data at any time via Android System Settings (
Settings > Apps > Pixel Clock > Storage > Clear Data).
- Uninstalling the App will automatically delete all stored local data permanently.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
